Ben and Corey talk about modern movie marketing for blockbusters like “Prometheus,” “The Dark Knight Rises” and “The Amazing Spider-Man,” as well as some fancy new trailers out in the world from Paul Thomas Anderson, James Bond and Ron Burgundy.
Also, is “The Avengers” a box office bully that is hurting Hollywood?
Ben’s brother and Bloomberg producer Graham Flanagan gives us an early look at Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom,” which he saw on vacation in Paris, France.
The guys also give thoughts on “Django Unchained” and “Iron Man 3” photos and offer their suggestions on who should replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.
Plus, we hear Parting Shots from FilmNerds.com contributors Matt Scalici, Craig Hamilton and Ben Stark on a Godfather prequel possibility, Black Window’s posterior in “The Avengers” and moral dilemma of crafting your personal top 10 all-time movie list.

Ben and Corey assemble for Joss Whedon’s Marvel casserole “The Avengers,” which just cleared $740 million worldwide, so they feel comfortable going into spoiler territory, so beware.
Producer Andrew Richardson chimes in as well, and look, it’s mostly a love fest. There’s little doubt left that Whedon hit a home run, combining Marvel’s major heroes into an amalgam of comic book movie glory.
Ben’s brother and Bloomberg producer Graham Flanagan reports back from the Tribeca Film Festival in New York with a review of the buzzed-about “Side by Side,” a documentary exploring the state of digital vs. film as told by directors and cinematographers like George Lucas, Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese, Steven Soderbergh and Wally Pfister.
The guys then go week by week, breaking down the rest of the summer movie landscape, offering their picks for must-sees as the season rolls along.
Kicking off a new segment not unlike the “parting shots” you see on the Sunday morning ESPN show “The Sports Reporters” are FilmNerds.com’s Matt Scalici, Craig Hamilton and Ben Stark, who all share something film-related they’ve thought about these past few days.
Finally, the guys pay tribute to Beastie Boys founder and filmmaker to the late Adam Yauch (aka MCA), who contributed so much to music videos as well as independent film with his own films he made as well as the ones he distributed for his studio Oscilloscope Laboratories.

Ben and Corey take a trip to “The Cabin in the Woods,” where filmmakers Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon write a love/hate letter to their beloved horror genre.
One loves it, while the other likes a lot about it but has issues with the mixed tone and the film’s knack for using the same tired horror conventions it chastises the genre for using in recent years.
They also dig into “The Three Stooges,” though there ain’t that far to dig. But, surprise, they both like Peter and Bobby Farrelly’s tribute. Nyuk, nyuk.
Closing the show, they revisit the Indonesian action movie sensation “The Raid: Redemption,” agreeing it belongs among the ranks of John Woo’s finest works like “Hard Boiled” and “The Killer.”

Ben and Corey laugh it up with their Top 10 comedies of the last 10 years, both picking several you might expect. But you know these guys, so watch out for a few surprises.
They also review one that didn’t quite make their list, “American Reunion,” the fourth installment of that series where that guy molested that pie. Surprisingly, they disagree, but one is more passionate on way than the other.
Ben’s brother an Bloomberg Network producer Graham Flanagan stops by to share his thoughts on Whit Stillman’s first film in 14 years, “Damsels in Distress,” now playing in limited release.
The guys also share some quick thoughts on the new teaser poster for Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming “Django Unchained.”
What’s your favorite comedy of the lasts 10 years? Share your picks!

Ben and Corey catch up on a handful of new film releases, including blockbusters like “The Hunger Games” and foreign independent movies like “The Kid with a Bike.”
They both enjoyed the smash hit “Hunger Games,” noting it’s smarter than your average studio action adventure, regardless of its place in the young adult adaptation genre. This ain’t “Twilight.”
The guys then turn to “Goon,” a profane and violent hockey comedy about a simple-minded but kind enforcer who finally finds his direction in life — busting skulls on the ice. Ben calls it his favorite movie of 2012 so far.
Ben’s brother and Bloomberg network producer Graham Flanagan pops in for a look at what’s in limited release, giving positive reviews to the Dardenne Brothers’ “The Kid with a Bike” as well as the buzzed-about action extravaganza “The Raid: Redemption.”
The guys also talk a little about “Wrath of the Titans” as well as what’s new on DVD.

Ben and Corey butt heads this week but not on Andrew Stanton’s science fiction adventure “John Carter,” which delivers like a blockbuster should despite falling into the dreaded all-time box office disaster category.
The guys don’t get the backlash in the wake of a befuddling marketing campaign that failed to connect with audiences, even when the $250 million-budgeted film has mainstream appeal.
Where the hosts disagree is on the cop comedy “21 Jump Street,” starring Jonah Hill and Cullman native Channing Tatum, who shows signs of life in this very funny film. Corey thinks it’s a modern comedy classic, but Ben thinks that’s stretching it a little.
They spend extra time dissecting the “John Carter” debacle, wondering how a Disney tent-pole release could ever fall victim to so much negative criticism before it ever played in a single theater.
